TCI Receives Contract for Spectrum Monitoring Systems from Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission
Fremont, CA – July 15, 2005
In partnership with a local Singaporean company, TCI has been awarded a contract to supply the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) with an integrated nationwide Spectrum Monitoring system. This contract includes three of the company's model 700 series of Spectrum Monitoring equipment. All three TCI-supplied systems are to be installed by the local partner in fixed locations throughout Singapore. The complete system includes integration with a mobile Spectrum Monitoring system supplied in 2004 by the same Singaporean partner and TCI. Completion of the project from start to finish is expected to take less than 6 months.
Once commissioned, TCI’s wideband spectrum monitoring system will allow IDA to monitor and locate radio transmitters, and verify their compliance with licensed spectrum usage. As a regulator, IDA is responsible for creating a conducive environment for Singapore to develop into a knowledge-based economy. IDA’s focus is on policy formulation, economic and industry regulation, technical regulation and operations.
