TCI Completes Factory Acceptance Testing of three Radio Intercept and Direction Finding Systems for the
Protection of the Amazon Basin Region in Brazil


FREMONT, CA—August 5, 2009.  TCI International, Inc., a leader in world-class spectrum monitoring and Communication Intelligence (COMINT) systems, announces that it has successfully completed Factory Acceptance Testing of three Model 802C Radio Intercept and Direction Finding (DF) Systems for the Protection of the Amazon Basin region in Brazil.  The System will allow the Brazilian Government to identify and locate radio communications throughout the Amazon Jungle and help control illegal activities in this ecologically sensitive region of the Country and of the World.  The illegal activities targeted by the Brazilian Government include uncontrolled border crossing, tree cutting, poaching and illegal settlements in the Jungle.

The three Radio Intercept and DF Systems include the capability for fully remote receiver control, audio monitoring, digital signal decoding and audio recording, as well as direction finding and single site location.  At the heart of each system is the latest generation TCI 8060B Digital DF Processor and TCI’s DF First™ signal acquisition technology to combine fast signal search with exceptional DF accuracy and speed.  The open and flexible client/server architecture of the 802C will allow the signal data from all three systems to be available and shared on the system network by each of the systems. 

The three systems are currently on their way to Brazil, to be installed and tested on-site before the end of 2009.
