TCI Announces the Industry's First 20 MHz to 8 GHz High-Performance DF Antenna
The TCI Model 647 Antenna Extends the Frequency Range for both COMINT and Regulatory Radio Monitoring and Direction Finding (DF) Systems.
FREMONT, CA—October 19, 2009. TCI International, Inc., a leader in spectrum monitoring and
COMINT products, has today announced the industry’s first high-performance monitoring and DF antenna for the 20 MHz to 8GHz frequency range. The antenna was developed to address detection and DF of new technologies, such as WiFi, WiMAX, WLAN/RLAN, datalinks and telemetry signals. The
Model 647 antenna provides integrated monitoring and DF in a single antenna package for all multi-channel TCI systems.

For COMINT applications, the TCI
Model 803C Wideband DF systems now offer comprehensive intercept and location of signals up to 8 GHz when equipped with the Model 647 antenna. The field-proven TCI Model 803C features advanced DSP processing technology, dual 20/2 MHz bandwidth, and real-time digital signal storage for wideband signal detection and threat recognition. A frequency extension, that includes the Model 647 antenna, is available for existing Model 803C systems.
The TCI Model
725,
735 and
745 monitoring and DF systems meet or exceed all International Telecommunications Union (ITU) recommendations, and when outfitted with the Model 647 antenna, provide extended frequency range coverage for all ITU measurements of frequency, field strength, modulation, direction finding, spectrum occupancy and automatic violation detection to 8 GHz. System software provides the same easy-to-use customer interface to cover the entire range of operation and provide the same display capabilities to 8 GHz. These systems can now be purchased initially configured with the Model 647 antenna, and frequency extension and upgrade options are available for all existing TCI Model 700 series systems to bring them up-to-date to the latest technology.
Available in fixed site and mobile configurations, the Model 647 is a compact, single package antenna well suited for mobile drive-down DF applications to locate V/U/SHF emitters. The Model 647 antenna is also field-repairable and self-calibrating to reduce maintenance costs and provide low lifecycle ownership costs.
