Órgano Regulador de las Telecomunicaciones (ORTEL) has taken possession of an integrated spectrum management, monitoring and geolocation solution from TCI International. The solution was delivered, installed and commissioned on schedule and is fully operational by ORTEL across the country.
ORTEL is one of 24 spectrum regulators across Africa that are utilizing TCI solutions for managing and monitoring the electromagnetic spectrum.
The solution utilizes TCI’s newest model 739 VHF/UHF/SHF spectrum monitoring and direction finding system, installed into ORTEL’s mobile platforms with onboard control and operations to enable monitoring and geolocation missions. Additionally ORTEL has procured transportable model 739 stations, model 709 monitoring and TDOA geolocation stations. All systems operate using TCI Scorpio spectrum monitoring and direction finding software and TCI model 710 automated spectrum management system (ASMS).
The selection of TCI spectrum monitoring and ASMS solutions will fulfill ORTEL’s spectrum management and monitoring needs. Model 739 offers dual 10/80 MHz instantaneous bandwidths and the ability to monitor and geolocate signals from 20 MHz to 8.5 GHz. The solution will ensure that ORTEL is equipped to monitor all signals – on all frequencies – today, and well into the future.
Further, the TCI solution offers rapid set up and deployment and a simple user-interface for ORTEL.
