ITU Compliance

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies — ICTs. The ITU-R manages the radio spectrum and satellite orbits resources, develops the technical standards that ensure networks and technologies seamlessly interconnect, and strives to improve access to ICTs to developing communities worldwide.

As a corporate member of the ITU since the 1990s, TCI actively participates in the work of the ITU. TCI offers technical expertise and contributes to meetings of Study Group 1 and its working parties on spectrum management and spectrum monitoring technologies and techniques. TCI’s spectrum monitoring and management solutions are fully compliant with ITU Recommendations to ensure effective and efficient spectrum management and monitoring activities; compatibility across all spectrum regulator customers; and the ability to exchange information with the ITU and other spectrum regulators around the globe.

1. ITU provides recommendation (ITU-R SM.2211-1) for Hybrid AOA/TDOA geolocation spectrum monitoring systems – “Based on the analysis, a hybrid AOA / TDOA geolocation solution may offer a number of advantages over TDOA and AOA systems: … a combination AOA/TDOA solution provides better coverage with fewer monitoring site locations”.
